“The creative is the place where no one else has ever been. You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition. What you’ll discover will be wonderful. What you’ll discover will be yourself.” — Alan Alda
Did you ever stop to consider you boldly go where no one has gone before every time you access your intuition – a new idea – an inspiration – a creation. Artists boldly go there a lot – some live there. Students, parents, working people, children – creativity makes our lives much, much easier no matter what path we are currently walking.
My logical mind is really good at thinking – finding all the pieces, fitting them together and presenting me with a possible choice or a solution to a problem. Several years ago it occurred to me I didn’t have to think my way through life. While my logical mind does a pretty good job, I discovered my intuition was sort of magically right on – a lot. When we are accessing intuition – we are it – no process – no time lapse – we just sort of know whatever we are seeking. Sometimes we aren’t even looking for anything. It’s just there. Groovy!
Alan Alda says you have to “leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition.” The city of our comfort is thinking. Intuition is more like feeling or being or knowing. Everything is right there – beyond thought – outside of the city of our comfort.
Many of us think to be creative means to be an artist. Not true. We are all creativity. It’s a state of being. Like love is a state of being. I am love – I am creative – you, too.
Next time you are thinking through an issue or a problem – find your answer by that method. Set it aside and then imagine, dream, feel, intuit – boldly go where no one has gone before – way out there – in the One Mind – space – the universe – pure consciousness – or whatever word you like. “What you’ll discover will be wonderful. What you’ll discover will be yourself.”
