Pure Entertainment

“People who see life as anything more than pure entertainment are missing the point.” – George Carlin

I wonder how many lives we have each lived?  Reincarnation sounds like a great thing.  The idea is we each have a soul that animates our physical body while we are in this particular dimension.  When our time in this physical reality is done, our soul leaves the body and continues on its journey.  Thanks for stopping by.

Makes me wonder why my soul incarnates in the first place?  I wonder if it is “pure entertainment?”

Some ancient teachings say this dimension is where my soul learns.  Or, works out its karma. School.  Sounds sort of like life – lots of lessons.

Of course, other teachings say this is a one way, one time trip to someplace else.  Better get it right or my soul will burn in hell for eternity.  In this model the goal is to learn what’s right and what’s wrong and to be sure I do everything right.  Seems like an impossible expectation on the part of whoever is running the show.  I feel like I’ve been set up for failure.  I think I like reincarnation better.

Then, there are those who think I don’t have a soul.  I’m just here for no particular purpose.  No rules.  And, when I’m dead – well, I’m dead.  It does win the prize for a simple philosophy.

I guess we all have our ideas about where we go from here or whether we go anyplace from here.  In the meantime, I have this moment.  Filled with limitless possibilities.  How cool is that?

Peace.
