“Cry. Forgive. Learn. Move on. Let your tears water the seeds of your future happiness.” – Steve Maraboli
Isn’t it amazing some of us were taught not to cry as children. Our society would have us believe life is all good, no tears. One big party. I remember crying in the middle of a business meeting one time. You would have thought I’d killed somebody. No tears allowed in big business. It’s a shame. Lots of reasons to cry in big business.
When I can cry out my pain or hurt, forgiveness is a whole lot easier. Crying allows me to release emotion. Once that’s gone, I can see more clearly. I remember forgiveness is for me.
Learn and move on. When the emotional storm begins to clear, the light of a new day shines through, we sort of pick ourselves up, look around, realize we are still here, still in the game of life. At this point, I usually see the absurdity of it all. OK, what’s the lesson here, what am I to learn? Where did all that emotion come from? I learn and move on with life a little lighter – a little wiser.
Remember: “Let your tears water the seeds of your future happiness.”
