“To have a sacred place is an absolute necessity for anybody today. You must have a room or a certain hour of the day or so, where you do not know who your friends are, you don’t know what you owe anybody or what they owe you. This is a place where you can simply experience and bring forth what you are and what you might be.” – Joseph Campbell
“. . . a place where you can simply experience and bring forth what you are and what you might be.” Doesn’t that sound like pure heaven? I am more of an introvert than an extrovert, so maybe having my own sacred place is more important to me than it might be to someone else.
I love having my own space. I can journal, write, paint, think, listen to beautiful music, meditate or do nothing. It’s my time and my place. Where I can recharge, come back to my ground, remember who I am and dream about who I might become.
Consider finding a place in your own environment that can be yours alone. And, consider setting aside 30 minutes or an hour a day for you to do whatever it is your heart desires. It is so very healing to get out of the busyness of life. To come back home.
